JacobRolf Jacob Sartorius was a Tulsa native. He was moved to Virginia to be adopted after his parents became unable to provide care. He was brought up within Reston, Virginia by his adoptive parents . At the age of seven, he began performing in musicals. It was there that he discovered his love to perform. Sartorius believed that using social media could be his way of escaping being bullied because he was victimized. He told Musical.ly that he wasn't the most confident.
