The 16th of September, the year 1958. Jennifer Tilly was born in Los Angeles in extremely substandard conditions. Her mother, who was a failing teacher and actor, was a salesperson for automobiles while her father was an auto salesman. Jennifer is the youngest of a family of four children she was frequently at the theater performances of her mother and was was awestruck. Jennifer's parents divorced at the age of 5 years old. Jennifer spent most of her young life at British Columbia after her mom was moved to the province along with the other four children. Jennifer did not consider herself a artist although she was an artist when she was a child. Her time at Canadian schools resulted in her becoming often the target of bullying. Her interest in theater diminished during her high school years which is why, as a consequence, she actively participated in shows as an extra with the help of her mother. She was inspired by her mom to encourage all of the children in the family to pursue a love of and interest for art. She then began to take action.
